The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) had a website redesign in 2018. This design established a new set of SharePoint templates and a new design system, but lacked meeting accessibility compliance. I worked with the UX and Web Services team to conduct an audit and establish a remediation plan that would work with and be easily adaptable to the existing design system and components.
The problem:
Government websites, including those of local agencies, need to be accessible. The NCDOT websites were not meeting minimum compliance.
Identifying ways to optimize an internal DMV process digitally. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Ignition Interlock Program team needed a new online system for managing the program. The new system would need to still support the legacy system’s data and its user’s needs.
The problem:
Internal DMV employees experience difficulty keeping up with backlog and lack of needed features.
I started with one main goal, bring change in how Insight markets accessibility. Insight’s Digital Innovation team helps companies implement digital solutions from discovery to delivery. During 2019 select individuals from the team came together to improve Insight’s stake in accessibility. My role in this go-to-market plan involved ideation, creation of a delivery deck, documentation for bid strategy, and triage.
The problem:
Accessibility as an integrated and offered solution was lacking. Through thoughtful internal planning and education a go-to-market strategy for Insight would be launched as a way for Insight to start taking on accessibility-specific projects. This would start with team education and would end with a client bid.
Stay Online is a manufacturer and distributor of a wide selection of power cords and cables for the data center, power infrastructure and industrial markets. Stay Online’s e-commerce website, launched in 1997, had not changed to be compliant with best practices introduced with HTML5. The team created a plan to decrease mobile bounce rate.
The problem:
Many users did not make or complete purchases. These users included a very high percentage of users from mobile devices.
Stay Online is a manufacturer and distributor of a wide selection of power cords and cables for the data center, power infrastructure and industrial markets. In 2015 Stay Online made the transition from a U.S. business to an international one. The company opened a shipping and manufacturing location in the Czech Republic. The team created a plan to help online consumers find products easily & globally.
The problem:
Sales team members expressed difficulties handling customer satisfaction for international orders through the current website. International customers expressed frustration with U.S.-centric site content and often left their shopping carts at the shipping stage of checkout.
Managing data can be a pain if errors get in the way of completing tasks. My role involved developing components with React and TypeScript. The Starbucks team needed to easily see information on assets being managed. A main dashboard with access to all data and the ability to display cross-data information was proposed.
The problem:
The Starbucks internal Starbucks portal experienced sync issues and error management issues.
